Meet Sara – Your Guide to Movement, Connection & Joy in the Basque Country!

Hey there! I’m Sara, yoga teacher, curious traveler, and lover of long savasanas. I’m part of the teaching team at Shanti Yoga Center in Saint Cloud, MN, and I’m beyond excited to guide you on this unforgettable retreat experience in the stunning Basque Country of Spain!

This journey is about more than just yoga (though there will be plenty of that!). It’s about bringing your whole self, body, mind, and spirit, into a week of movement, deep rest, cultural immersion, laughter, and connection. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, you're invited into a supportive, inclusive space where we’ll explore the magic of yoga together, amid coastal beauty, local traditions, and maybe a pintxo or two.

I’ve been practicing yoga for 18ish years, and proudly graduated from Shanti’s very first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Study in 2025 (a dream!). My teaching is rooted in accessibility, playfulness, and trauma-informed care, blending elements of Iyengar, Sivananda, Yin, mobility work, and yoga philosophy. When I’m not teaching, I work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Sex & Relationship Coach, both of which shape how I approach movement, embodiment, and healing.

In my classes, expect curiosity over perfection, breathwork to ground us, movement to wake us up, and an extra-long savasana to seal it all in.

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me in my garden, hiking with my dog Maddie, or trying to get my cats Maple and Nutmeg to cooperate with cuddles.
